Top tips to make back-to-school a success!

✅ Support the immune system!

As the new school year approaches, ensuring your child’s immune system is strong and ready is a top priority!

✏️ Here are some natural ways to give their defenses a little extra support:

Eat up: Load up on immune-boosting foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, nuts and seeds. Focus on whole foods and avoid processed.

Get outside: Fresh air and sunlight play a key role in immune health. Encourage outdoor playtime, whether it’s a nature walk, bike ride, or a game of tag – it all contributes to a stronger immune system.

Prioritize sleep: Adequate sleep is a superhero for the immune system! Set a consistent sleep schedule to ensure your child gets the recommended hours for their age. Also make sure that their sleep environment is cool, quiet, and promotes relaxation. Put screens away before bedtime!

Stay hydrated: Water helps flush out toxins and supports bodily functions, including the immune system. Make sure your little one drinks enough water throughout the day.

Proper hygiene: Teach good hygiene practices, including regular handwashing with warm, soapy water, and covering sneezes and coughs. These simple steps can go a long way in preventing the spread of germs.

‍♀️ Encourage relaxation: Stress can seriously weaken the immune system. Encourage relaxation through activities like yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises, or other calming activities your kiddos enjoy.

Stay active: Physical activity keeps the body moving which helps kids maintain a healthy weight and healthy brain, body, and mind.

Sneak in some extra cuddles and family time: Even though we do our best to reduce the stress of back-to-school, time apart from loved ones can be challenging for both parents and kiddos. Spend some extra time together to talk about the day and enjoy each other’s company.

Small changes can make a big difference.   Here’s to a strong and thriving immune system!

✅ Set yourselves and your little ones up for success by establishing a morning routine to make busy mornings better for everyone.

According to a study published in the journal “Child Development,” children who have regular routines tend to have better emotional and behavioral outcomes. The study found that children with consistent routines had fewer behavioral problems, better self-control, and a higher level of pro-social behavior compared to children with less structured routines.

Routines provide children with a sense of predictability and stability, which can contribute to their overall well-being and development.

⏰ Early mornings can be tough on both parents and kiddos, especially if you’ve fallen off of routine during the summer months.

#1 tip – Start slow! Getting into a new routine can be difficult to follow at first and can be frustrating for everyone at times. Have patience, keep a smile on with a good attitude (even if you’re not feeling it, Mom and Dad), keep gently reinforcing and eventually it will stick!

Add a little bit of fun by incorporating small incentives or rewards for completing tasks on time. ⭐️ It could be a sticker on their chart, extra playtime, or a special treat after school.

Routines look different for every family so use our tips as a guide and create a system that works best for you and your lifestyle.

If you follow a morning routine in your household, have you found that it’s beneficial? If you have tips to share that you’ve found helpful in your own home, please share with all of us!

Moms and dads, let’s do our best to provide our little learners with the tools they need for a healthy and successful school year.

Doctors and medical offices have always given me fear. Not with this place! Some of the nicest most catering people I have ever met with truly good intentions! We love this place! The kids love the atmosphere with Great Wall art to look at. We feel like family here! They take the time to explain things and do not rush us out the door. Thank you all for all the love you share with our family!

Our family loves Jessica and her whole practice. We feel well cared for, seen and heard! In this day and age of quick doctor visits and high costs of care, the care we receive here is integral to wellness.

We are new patients here and had a wonderful first experience. Everyone in the office was so kind and friendly. Valerie was amazing with our daughter, very helpful and genuine in fielding all of our questions, and provided us with great resources. I am grateful for their whole child approach. So happy to have found this pediatric team!

Jessica, Jacki and all the Well Rooted Staff are amazing. Our Pediatrician retired a few years back and we were in limbo for several years, never feeling like any Dr we saw actually listened to us. After our 1st visit at Well Rooted we knew we finally found “the one”. They listen and take the time to discuss options. They support the patient and put YOU 1st.
