Adolescent Medicine
What Is Adolescent Medicine?
Adolescent medicine is the primary care that addresses issues related to pre-teen and teenage years into young adulthood. The providers at Well-Rooted Pediatrics are trained in caring for children into and beyond this time in their lives. We have an in-depth knowledge of problems that arise during this timeframe and an understanding in how to effectively treat adolescents.
Some of the different problems that arise during adolescence include growth and development, hormonal changes, abdominal distress, eating disorders, acne, headaches, problems with bone health, mood disorders, weight changes, teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, addiction, and disorders affecting the reproductive system.
Adolescents, or children over the age of 10 should be seen in our office annually, or more often if there are specific ailments or issues that are affecting the pre-teen or teen. In addition, they can continue to be seen as they grow into adulthood at our Functional Clinic and Women's Health Clinics.
